This site is only accessible by signing up for an organised tour as it is on private land. On Sunday 4th September 2022 I attended the tour run by Tours of Guernsey.
Amanda Johns is a very knowledgeable guide and the tour is highly recommended. Amanda is local Silver Accredited Tour Guide and a WWll expert Pierre Renier was also in attendance. Both Amanda and Pierre are volunteers for Festung Guernsey who maintain this and other sites. You can find their website here.
The tour was fascinating on a site that I have never visited before. I highly recommend this tour. I have put a few pictures on this page to give you a flavour of the site but there is so much more to see and I don’t want to spoil it for anyone looking to do the tour.
To book a tour of this and other sites take a look at Amanda’s website here https://www.toursofguernsey.com/. You will also find more information there.
If you would like to receive email notifications of future blogs, you can sign up to the right of this blog post. Feel free to look around the website, where I have categorised posts to make them easier to find and other resources such as tours, places to visit and films that may be of interest.
You can also follow the blog on Twitter at @Fortress_Island where I share other information and photographs. If you prefer Facebook I also have a page there.
If you have questions or information to share you can contact me by email on Contact@Island-Fortress.Com.
I will be adding more as time permits. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you enjoyed it. Please share it on social media or add a comment if you did. Feedback is always appreciated.
Also happy to be contacted with questions about the war in the Channel Islands, media appearances, podcasts etc.
